Miesha Tate Returns vs. Julie Kedzie On August 18th At Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman Event
MMA fans are sure to be more than pleased to hear that former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will be returning to action much sooner than many would have initially expected, and Tate appears to have made a full recovery from having her arm visibly damaged in her bout with Ronda Rousey last March, where she lost the title she had acquired from Marloes Coenen, and also put a stop to her 8 fight terror that she was on.
Tate will return to the cage and Strikeforce bantamweight division to attempt another run at her former title, and she has drawn WMMA veteran competitor and mainstay Julie Kedzie, in a bout scheduled for August 18th on the under card of the Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman event.
Tate is one of the most popular female athletes in recent memory, and fans are eagerly anticipating her spirited and heart drenched performances that made her a champion in both MMA and wrestling. Kedzie last tasted defeat at the hands of another top tier WMMA fighter Alexis Davis, in Julie’s Strikeforce debut in July of last year, and has recently dabbled in MMA commentary.
When two fierce competitors are coming off of losses, it usually provides the ingredients for exciting contests, and this newly announced female match-up should deliver in spades. Miesha’s current record stands at 12-3, while Kedzie currently boasts a 16-9 record respectively. Showtime will broadcast the event on August 18th, so check your local listings for times in your area.
