Rafael Feijao Cavalvante vs. Mike Kyle 2 Added To Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier
Earlier today, it was announced that former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante (11-3) will square off against Mike Kyle (19-8) in a rematch at Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Cormier.
The event will take place May 19th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA and will feature the finals of the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament with former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett taking on former Olympic wrestler Daniel Cormier.
Last we saw of Cavalcante, he decimited former Olympic silver medalist in wrestling Yoel Romero by way of KO in round 2. Since the loss to Kyle, the Brazilian has gone 4-1, including a victory over Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal for the Strikeforce title.
As for Kyle, he’s gone an impressive 6-2 since he fought the former Strikeforce ligh heavyweight champion. Kyle was last seen earning a hard fought decision over Marcos Rogerio De Lima.
