Evan Dunham and Nik Lentz give MMA fans a bonus worthy show
It’s not too often that a fight that is featured on the preliminary portion of a UFC card ends up winning the Fight of the Night bonus. Evan Dunham and Nik Lentz’s back and forth battle was epic, as the two fighters gave everything they had, in their attempt to dispatch of one another. Unfortunately it was damage to Lentz’s eye from the furious exchanges that ended the bout, and as cage side attendants examined the battered eye of Lentz, it was determined that he was to take no more additional damage, thus providing Dunham with the TKO (doctor’s stoppage) victory over Nik.
The extreme efforts put forth by both Dunham and Lentz did not go unnoticed, as they were both able to take home an additional $65,000 for their wonderful, as well as gutsy performances. MMA fans of all types eat fights like this up, and the only drawback, if there could be one considered, would be that more people didn’t see it, due to where the fight was placed on the UFC on FOX 2 card. We’ll be seeing a lot more of these two in near future, and most likely higher up towards the headlining bouts.
